Inspired by his own upbringing and the mentors that have supported his career, Assemblymember David Alvarez is excited to launch the Young Legislators Program for the 80th Assembly District. The program seeks to provide high school students an introduction to state government and help them decide whether they want to pursue a career in public service. Upon completion of the program, students will have received a thorough understanding of the legislative process and will be well-equipped with the tools necessary to grow professionally.
The Young Legislators Program consists of local government education, an introduction of the legislative process, community work, and sessions on professional and personal development. Students will work collaboratively and learn from guest speakers that work in public service or related fields. All students that complete the program will be recognized at our final community event of the year.
